Dr. Hani Mansour, a leading burns specialist based in the US, came to the hospital to supplement the care and advice being provided by the staff here. The Rev Habib Badr also arrived from Beirut to be by the family's side, and conducted a very moving prayer service. He read from the 23rd Psalm, and gave much comfort and perspective to all those who were there.
Friends and colleagues from all over the world have been calling continuously to inquire about Basil's condition, to convey their feelings of shock and to wish him the best with his recovery.
Dear Basil and family
Our deepest prayers for a quick recovery. Words cannot express our revulsion at what has happened. We are with you in thought constantly. Get well soon.

Me and my family pray for the safety of Mr. Fleihan whom I met briefly at a friend's house, to find him the kind and gentle person that everyone wishes to call him a "friend".
All the prayers goes to him from the heart of all the Lebanese in Houston, and who wish him the quick recovery.

I send you and your family all the positive thoughts and energy I can muster and admire your strong will for life. I hope we can all learn from you how to value our own.
May you survive this tragedy and regain your health and strength soon.
