Services were held today in solidarity with Basil and his family at Dubai's St Mary's Church and at the Evangelical Church in Ain Zhalta.
"The service in Ain Zhalta’s Evangelical Church was delivered against the setting of an idyllic Lebanese village. The crowd overflowed the church’s courtyard into the village’s main square. In that day Ain Zhalta became one big church fluttering in white and red under a clear blue sky".

Dear Basil,
Kate and I have been praying for your recovery. Please be strong. You will get through this. Your family needs you. Your country needs you. And your old friends need you.
We have many fond memories of our times with you at Columbia. I hope that we can see you again, healthy and strong, soon. We miss your friendship, your perspective, your intellect, and your wonderful sense of humor.
God bless you Basil.
Love, Dan and Kate Coates
